Japanese Resort Liaison

Do you have a flair for languages and enjoy communicating with a variety of groups in English & Japanese?

Our Japanese Liaison is an integral part of our school's operation who's primary responsibility is to keep communication open between our Japanese stakeholders and English speaking school & guests. A natural communicator our liaison will enjoy communicating in both languages and helping to build strong relationships.

Each day can be different from communicating safety or weather concerns, to reporting injuries and accidents with the Mountain Ski Patrols or assisting the School Director with procurement and liaising with local suppliers.

You will naturally enjoying helping people and have a passion for customer service. When not needed in your liaison role you will assist our Guest Services Team to book lessons for our guests.

What you’ll be doing

  • Continually striving to exceed our Guest’s expectations and to create memories for guests and staff as the best mountain experience again and again.
  • Communicating safety concerns from Ski Patrol and Hirafu Resort to GoSnow management
  • Liaising with ski patrol to advise of injured guests
  • Communicating with other resort staff in Japanese when needed
  • Assiting the school director with procurement and purchasing
  • administrative tasks
  • Assisting GoSnow staff and guests when necessary
  • Assisting the Guest Services Team to book lessons and assist GoSnow guests.

Qualifications and job requirements

  • Business level Japanese and English reading, writing and speaking skills are required for this role
  • The role suits those who love communicating with a wide variety of groups to help promote better understanding. The successful person will enjoy communicating in both English and Japanese. You will have an eye for detail, strong customer service skills and enjoy variety in your work
  • Strong customer service skills and conflict resolution skills
  • Be able to obtain a valid Japanese Working Visa or meet the requirements for a sponsored visa

Contract Period

4 November 2019 to 15 April 2020


Hourly rate is ¥1,350 to ¥1,450 per hour depending on experience. The role works on a 5 day week during peak times, and 4 day in non peak. Average hours are from 35-40hrs per week.

25% loading is paid for overtime.
