Great Lessons, Priceless Experiences

Gate 11 - Mizuno No Sawa

Gate 11 - Mizuno No Sawa

Access: Take the Niseko Village gondola and exit left, ski down to the base of the Wonderland chair and to your left you will see a short uphill walk, often serviced by a tow rope, leading to gate 11.

Aspect: Southerly.

Safety Considerations: Mizuno No Sawa has a well-known cornice on skiers right which develops in high winds, the area is prone to sun exposure and creep (large cracks in the snow coverage) developing in spring.

One of Niseko United’s inbounds gates, Gate 11 offers epic, open powder riding for the tree lovers through to steep, open pow faces. Mizuno no sawa is another great snow collecting gully that sits atop Niseko Village’s sprawling groomers.

On its left flank lies red run style powder trees that shade that Niseko powder all day long. The trees are well spaced and are a great shelter on stormy days.

The skiers right face hosts some of the best ski-in steeps in Niseko United. With the frequent wind loading & over 300 meters of ridge line to choose from, the runs can be steep and deep all day long.
