Important Information for Private Lessons

Lift passes are required for all people using Grand Hirafu Resort including those who participate in lessons within the magic carpet learning area. Ticket queues can be long in the morning so we recommend purchasing your lift ticket the day before.

• If you are first timer to Novice level, we recommend a Grand Hirafu lift pass

• If you are an intermediate or advanced skier or snowboarder and would like the option to explore Niseko Village and Annupuri, we recommend an All Mountain lift pass

• Please note that weather, snow conditions and lift operations may affect where you can go in your lesson

We recommend that you arrange collection of your rental equipment the day prior to your lesson as there can be long delays at the rental shops

In general - everything takes much longer in the snow so allow much more time to arrive for your lesson than you think that you will need. Shuttle buses can be delayed, the roads may be slow due to snow conditions, you may encounter delays with lift tickets and rental equipment - even walking with your boots on and carrying your equipment can be a slow process!

Private lessons can take place at either of our two locations - the Gondola Base located at the Hirafu Gondola or the Family Base located next to Aya Niseko.

Please ensure you head to the correct location. If you arrive at the wrong base there is a possibility, we cannot have you join the lesson at this location. Click here to see our base locations

Check in time is 5 minutes prior to the start time of your booking. Lessons start at the time booked so please ensure that you allow enough time to make it to your lesson on time. We cannot extend the lesson time if you were unable to start at the time intended.

Please check in for your lesson at the designated area highlighted in the images below;

• We recommend a good quality low light lens in your goggles for Niseko’s powder conditions. Sunglasses are not recommended.
• Wear a neck warmer, insulated gloves and layers along with waterproof snow jackets and pants. Hand and toe warmers are great if you really feel the cold.
• Make sure your boots are done up tight and you have good warm and insulated socks on.

• All participants must be of the same or similar age and ability level and must be on the same equipment (No ski and board mixed privates).
• Family Privates are a wonderful idea. However, they can be really tricky. Kids and adults learn through different methods and at different paces. GoSnow will not book family privates for children under the age of 6. If you would like to book a family private, it is best to talk to our team.
• Lessons for children as young as 2 can be booked, however, only in a 1 on 1 environment. 2 hours is the best duration for this age group.
• Full Day Private lessons allow you to start at a flexible time between 8.30am and 10.00am. AM Privates allow a flexible start time or either 8.30am or 9.00am.
• For health and safety purposes a 30 minute lunch break must be taken during a Full Day Private.
• Guests in GoSnow lessons can be taken throughout the entire Niseko Resort depending on ability level and mountain operations/conditions. Please consider that for shorter lessons, there will be limitations with accessing different areas of the resort.
• AM and PM Private Lessons will commence and finish at the base location selected at the time of booking. Locations are at the Gondola Base or Family Base areas.
• A specific instructor can be requested and we will accommodate requests where possible. For circumstances outside of our control (e.g.injury/illness) it may not be possible to have the requested instructor and on these occasions an alternative instructor will be assigned.
• If there are specific goals you would like to work towards in your lesson please make us aware of these at the time of booking. A suitable instructor can be allocated according to what you are trying to achieve.
