Niseko Turns It On for Olympians Jenny Jones and Yuka Fujimori

17 January, 2016

Olympic bronze medalist Jenny Jones and Japanese national team rider Yuka Fujimori have timed their Niseko trip to perfection, arriving earlier this week and getting their share of the 230 cm of light, dry powder that has fallen over the first two and a half weeks of January.

Jones, also a 3-time Winter X Games gold medalist, took to social media after her first day on snow with a reaction that many first-time visitors to Niseko will have felt. She posted "R u kiddin me! Woohoo! ‪#‎mega‬ first day". Welcome to the Niseko fan club, Jenny!

The two accomplished snowboarders, who are staying at Ki Niseko for the duration of their trip, also took some time out of their busy schedules to trade Niseko notes and ride powder with some of Gondola Snowsports' elite female instructors. The session was captured by local photographer Glen Claydon, whose best snaps from the day can be seen below. Enjoy!
