As a member of our Snowsports team you will be a passionate instructor, with a commitment to providing a fun and memorable ski and snowboard experience.
Our instructors will work primarily in POD’s across our core programs; including Children's Programs, Adult Groups and Private Lesson’s.
You must be available for the entire period from December to the end of March. If you are not available for the full period, please note why in your application
Skills & Experience Required
- Be able to obtain a valid Japanese Working Visa or meet the requirements for a sponsored visa
- A minimum Level 1 APSI or equivalent snowsports certification is required
- A minimum of one full time season of teaching experience
- Provide a high level of customer service and continually strive to exceed our guest’s expectations
- Use appropriate terrain to develop skills, build confidence and facilitate fun learning
- Provide guidance & feedback in a manner that is supportive, encouraging & helps students achieve their goals
- Must have your own snowsports equipment
- You must be physically fit and injury free
- Committed to your continued professional development
Job Particulars
Employment Period and Hours of Work
- Contract period is from December 4th 2024 - March 31st 2025
- Most weeks you will have 2 days off however during peak times there are 1 day off or 0 day off periods in place
- A maximum 12 day work period guarantee over the peak period
Pay Rate
- Instructor base rate is determined by industry certification and minimum seasons teaching experience
- Additional bonus' for cross over certification, Cantonese/Mandarin language skills
- Incentive of ¥2000 per hour worked if you choose to relinquish your day off over the peak period
- Monthly top performer bonus scheme

- In house certification & development training program running 5 evenings per week outside of peak season
Consistent Hours
- Due to our location, our on site sales desk, priority lift lanes and magic carpet learning areas, we are consistently busy throughout the season
- In the 2023/24 winter season, the seasonal average hours worked (across all certifications) was in excess of 400 hours
Travel Support Bonus
- ¥30,000 travel cost support bonus upon contract completion
Subsidised Accommodation and Staff Shuttle
- Subsidised staff accommodation available starting from ¥5,000 per month quad share, ¥15,000 twin share (or double for couples) with all utilities, basic supplies and WiFi included
- Free Staff shuttle available between Hirafu Village and Kutchan Town
